framing recommendations

Studio Moulding #277-145 Charcoal color, wood frame about 1-1/4" deep, simple, clean profile, no carving or beads. For oversize photo 20"x40" use moulding 3622-145.

Rising Rag Mat #402872 White 4 Ply this mat matches the watercolor paper and gives it a nice neutral mat that shows the photo. If you choose another mat, keep it neutral white, cream, light gray or Bainbridge Alpha Rag Mat #8065 white. Rising Mat, Warm white is also nice just make sure it is an Acid Free mat. Do not use a double mat or colored mat on the bottom it looks too busy and creates a line that circles the image.

Float Method: Acid free dry-mount onto 3/4" foam core, use black spacer, show approx. 2" of paper and 2" of mat top and side total of 4" and weight bottom 4-1/2".

Museum Look: Place mat approx. 1/2" from image edge to show signature, mat allowance top and sides is 3-1/2" and weight bottom mat 4".

Glass: If you have the budget, the new anti-reflective glass is the best, Tru Vue or Image Perfect, it looks as if there is no glass. Not recommended is non-glare. It is too blurry. Plexiglass is good for large pieces due to the weight and it will not break. Be careful when cleaning because it scratches easily. Use an antistatic swifter cloth or soft cloth. Never spray water or Windex on Plexiglass as it could leak into the frame. Put water on the cloth first and then wipe clean.

Mixed Media Framing: Larson Juhl moulding, Lucerne #350793. Warm white acid free mat.
